Cadio cares about your privacy. We want to be transparent about how we use your location data and how we keep it secure. 100% of Cadio’s data is opt-in. That means we never get GPS information from anyone unless they explicitly agree to share it with us. We always make it clear for exactly how long we will acquire this data, and we store it securely at all times. Cadio follows CTIA's Best Practices and Guidelines for Location-Based Services, which can be downloaded here.

You may receive a text message, email or other communication asking you to share your location with Cadio; this communication may come directly from Cadio or may be sent via one of Cadio's partners. It will always be accompanied by a URL so that you can confirm it’s legitimate. You will also be told the start-date and stop-date, so you know for exactly how long you will be sharing your data. You need to give explicit permission for Cadio to access your location by following the instructions provided. We will also provide you with instructions on how to cancel data sharing, which you may do at any time. However, if you cancel before the stop-date please note that you may forgo any offered rewards. Cadio’s algorithms draw inferences from GPS and other location data that you have agreed to share with us. Derived lifestyle inferences may be shared with Cadio's partners, and as part of this process your data may be aggregated. Importantly, your raw location data will never be made available outside Cadio - in other words, nobody outside Cadio will ever know your GPS coordinates at a given moment. We keep your location data secure at all times and we store the data only in order to derive new inferences and for testing and development purposes. Our servers use modern encryption and firewall technologies to make them virtually unhackable.

You will never incur any costs on your wireless phone bill by sharing your location with Cadio. However, as part of the opt-in or cancellation process, we may ask you to send and receive one or more text messages. These text messages will be charged at standard rates or will count as standard text messages under your existing SMS plan if you have one.

Sharing data with Cadio will not change the way your phone operates and will not require that you do anything different with your handset. However, some individuals may see a very minor impact on battery life in certain cases. This effect is only short-term and your normal battery life will return as soon as the data-sharing period is over.
