Doug Levin
Doug is a software industry veteran, serial CEO and entrepreneur. He founded Black Duck Software in 2002 and previously served as its CEO and President, raising $30 million from seven VCs, producing 700 customers and employing 80 employees. During this period he served as a zero stage advisor to HubSpot, Lucid Imagination and Visible Measures – three thriving VC-backed software companies based in Boston.
Doug was awarded CEO of the Year in 2007 by the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council (MTLC).
Doug has a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an advanced degree in International Economics from the College d’Europe in Bruges, Belgium. He is a guest lecturer at Harvard Business School and MIT Sloan.
Rip Gerber, President and CEO of LOC-AID
Prior to joining LOC-AID, Rip Gerber was General Manager, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Nokia/Intellisync, a provider of platform-independent wireless messaging and mobile software, where he also ran business development, marketing, analyst relations and ecommerce (NASDAQ: SYNC). He is widely recognized for transforming the company's brand and product offering and helped to orchestrate a $510M acquisition by Nokia. In 1999, Mr. Gerber was a lead executive in taking Commtouch public, a messaging infrastructure company (NASDAQ: CTCH) and served as Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to that, he founded and led email marketing firm @once (acquired by InfoUSA) and served as a strategy management consultant at Deloitte Consulting. Early in his career he ran card marketing programs for American Express, where he launched the industry's first online card application, and built a polyester factory for Firestone Tire & Rubber as plant engineer. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia. Mr. Gerber also serves on LOC-AID's board of directors.
